I love education; do you?

I love education
I cherish education
Because it gives one the audacity
To challenge the "unchallengables"
To suppress the "unsuppressables"...
When you re young...
Just like four, five years old
Informal education crawls in and you start learning things
Your parents shouts at you...
Go there!! Come here!! Bring it!!
They want you to be ok
They want you to learn as fast as possible
I love education...
The moment you start schooling
You formal eduaction comes around
And you start learning in other forms
Meeting new people and making new friends
School is different from home
You may not even wish to go home after school hours
You just stay behind and alive with your friends...
I love education
Simply because it opens one eyes to the world around
And windows of opportunity come after
Being literate is different from being educated
And being educated is different from being rich...
Being educated does not mean being rich
But after all you live a comfortable and pleased life
You may not get job on time...
But when there is vacancy they'll employ illiterate.
I love education...
Because educated person reason differently
Because they have got cool head.
They behave differently
Because they could see beyond their nose
They talk, speak gently
Because they've got the confidence in them
They dress smartly
Because it's the part of what they learnt
They look nicely
Becasue it's the culture of education
You may not be rich or born with silver spoon in your mouth
But once you re educated, you'v got everything in life
Because being rich without education
Is comparable to being living without blood
Ask me why...?
And I'll say it keeps you going...
I LOVE EDUCATION...!

i admire your poem...i agree, i enjoy education as well because it's fascinating to learn about new things you never knew about and even just things you realized you never thought of. Also you mentioned meeting new people...i agree with this also that in shcool you recieve an opportunity to socialize with others which can be positive or negative but either way you still learn about different people. I surmise though, learning isn't always from what you learn at school and what they say in textbooks...it can just be about experiencing something new and visualizing. Learning is knowing so what better is there than to experience and learn from textbooks? Education alone is not iniquitous but when it comes to the way teachers treat students, social life, and stress associating with school its a whole different story...

I actually quite liked the way my teachers treated me...and I found the stress bearable (I actually think I run on stress these days... during the beginning of the holidays I actually got huge migraines and my friends think it was "anti-stress" ...the social part is harder I find, because everyone is going through changes (don't I sound just like a "growing up" video???) and it's hard when friend groups change or people change or the things they do change... but on the whole, the school system was quite fun...
Despite saying that, I know a lot of people find the system just utterly boring. I think there needs to be a lot listening to kids to see what they find interesting and how they like to learn. I've done a lot of one-on-one tutoring and you always have to "acclimatise" to each student... I think teachers, even if teaching to a class of thirty students, should be prepared to do the same...and to give everyone a chance.
Otherwise, EDUCATION ROCKS!!!
Hhahah, I'm still cracking up from this phrase "Geology Rocks"...I don't know why and I don't know it's relevance to this thread, but hey...
