Is the Libya conflict over?

With the death of Colonel Gaddafi today, does the Libya conflict come to an end?
How close are the people of Libya to a democratic government? How much farther do they have to go?

I think it is better to remove the dictator: so people may choose themselves where to go. And I hope they will go soon to peace and prosperity. it also depends of the global community and countries who have relationships with Libya..

From what I've read, I feel its a long way to go for a democratic Libya to emerge because under Moammer Gadafi's rule, there weren't well-defined institutions and government agencies. So it'll be starting from scratch almost. Even though there isn't any strong indication of any sort of radicalisation of the populace, you never know which road this conflict would take. There could be power struggles which could lead to civil war. Or maybe it could all end positively. But it will be months before anyone can make any conclusion about this conflict.

Not really. People in Libya, certainly have managed to take a foothold towards democracy. Nevertheless, it is necessary to comprehend that citizen of Libya are used to living under a dictator's regime. Hence, it might take a very long time and the Libyans might have to undergo numerous unexpected circumstances before they realize the actual essence of democracy.

i am optimistic that will do well though it is going to take sometime. A journey of a thousand miles begin with a step afterall. What we have to do now is to provide as much support we can for the new government

I don't think the conflict is over yet because Libya will never find that true peace that they deserve and will continue to want more. I think that they do have more freedom to do whats right and i praise them for that because it shows how people with less authority can make a difference no matter how big or tough the issue really is.

If we look at what is happening in Egypt right now, we can see that the intended results of the Arab Spring have not come about yet.
Egypt, and many other countries will have to sustain a peoples voice and not let it become suppressed by a Military Council or any other supreme governing body that has not been elected.
I fear this may also happen in Libya, and if there are no free elections in the next year, then the country is hardly in a better condition than it was under Colonel Gaddafi. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Connor Maultsaid-Blair

may be, may not because it may result into something else "unless" the the new government will accept to include the liberation fighters to join the countries security system so as to help keep the ammunition's in check or it will happen again.

The Libya conflict is not over yet because Libyans have not yet come to peace yet. The OFW workers in Libya are also in trouble because of the on going war in Libya. I really hope that the war would end.

It's not! When you flood a nation with arms and fighters for however noble a cause, you stand at the risk of starting a war that'll never end. On the big, official scale, the war has ended. But unofficially, the conflict just began. The anti-Ghadafi elements will begin to vent, revolutionaries who cannot find job after the war will become less altruistic with their skills and there will always be the general belief that anything to be gotten must be taken by force.
