Media fear in Nigeria
Oct 14, 2011
|
|
The recent invasion of the Abuja and Lagos offices of Vintage Press Limited, publishers of The
Nation News in Nigeria by the Police and other security agencies to arrest its editors and workers
is alarmingly condemnable and uncalled for. While it is a slap to the media and freedom of
information and expression in Nigeria and the free world, it calls for people all over the world to
rise up with Nigeria and question the government of GEJ, while demanding that the police and other
security agencies stop this brutality against the press and other innocent civilians and apologise
to the Newspaper now! Or this fear continues.

Nigeria... Good People! Great Nation!
It's time for Nigerian youths to roll up their sleeves and demand full implementation of the Freedom
of Information (FOI) Bill passed by GEJ. It's time to roll out a Campaign or Revolution to flush out
the bad eggs out of our Great Country, Nigeria.
We can do it. We have all the tools and resources it takes to fix Nigeria.
As the world becomes a Global Village powered by high speed information systems, Youths can use the
latest ICT technologies to mobilize Nigerians to hold our Government and Institutions fully
Accountable.
The Labour of our heros past, shall never be in vain.
Long Live Nigeria!
The Great Revolution has just started at --- www.greatnigeria.net

It is unfortunate that this kind of shamful act is happening in our country but the fact remains
that the main contributing factor is illitracy on the part of the led, law enforcement agents and
the leaders. No country can ever develop without a healthy and reliable information system. freedom
of press is a human right but some government have chosen to redefined what human rights stands for
to suite their fancy
