What I have learnt from the life of Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs (1955-2011),former CEO of Apple (makers of ipods, ipads, iphones,MAC)and Pixar Animation (producers of the famous award-winning Toy story) a man who never gave up despite the diverse challenges he faced in life (school, health, love and company). Steve is dead now but he has made a great impact in the world. I have learnt from Steve's speech at harvard graduation that when you have something at heart, go for it and be careful who you share your ideas with, they might just steal it. Steve said, Microsoft stole his idea when Bill Gates implemented something he(Steve) had worked on.
What have you learnt from Steve's life?

Steve with his perfectionism, he only settles for the absolute best in everything he does. This standard of excellence drives many of his employees crazy and pushes them to their very best and makes them achieve extraordinary performances. Jobs was a crucial cultural resource, which explains the outpouring of sadness at his passing.

I saw a very important "lesson" we can learn from Steve Jobs in the newspaper today. Walter Isaacson, who has written a biography about Steve Jobs, says Steve Jobs regretted very much not listening to his doctors. He confessed to Isaacson that doctors told Jobs his pancreatic cancer was "one of these slow-growing five percent of pancreatic cancers that can be actually cured." But instead of allowing the doctors to operate right away, Jobs tried many quack cures. He tried to treat it with diet. He went to spiritualists. He tried "macrobiotic" cures, but he didn't get an operation until it was too late. He then had to have a liver transplant which did extend his life, but he should have trusted his doctors sooner. We should learn the lesson that quack cures kill. Let's trust science.

Another great point there from Prieten. The same was said of Thomas Edison, he made great discoveries, had a great wife but had no time for his family. Now, that's a minus.
