YOUTHAIDS GREAT BARRIER REEF PETITION

Charles Hill once stated, “If we help the penguins and the people simultaneously we can hope for a better present and future.” Steve Smith, founder of YouthAID International, is attempting to attain 10,000 signatures to increase the amount of area that is highly protected within the Great Barrier Reef. Merely 4.6% of the Great Barrier Reef is highly protected as a marine sanctuary. The majority of the reef is degraded by unsustainable fishing, pollution, climate change and coastal development. Your support will help save the 1500 species of fish, 350 types of hard coral and 5000 varieties of molluscs. Once the signatures have been attained, the petition will be sent off to the Australian Minister for the Environment and Heritage in hope to bring about change. Please act now to protect Australia's reef. http://youthaid.grokspot.com/interactive.html

YouthAID is a youth-led, Australian-based organization that aims to give aid to youth who are in situations of war, poverty and famine, and those who are directly or indirectly affected by the HIV/AIDS virus. YouthAID's vision is that of a utopian world which promotes peace and a sustainable future. A world where poverty does not rule, where peace prevails over war, and where no one goes without the necessities we take for granted. A global village where every citizen realizes that we are all living in one world, that we are all one community and that there is all but one race humanity.
