Massive Solar Storm (Flare) to hit earth by 2012 end

You all might have heard stories of a catastrophic end of earth on 21st December 2012 either due to
solar heat or Maya Calender or natural disturbances.
Though this is a myth and totally baseless projection, but there are really some potential natural
events occuring in 2012 which can cause serious damage to earth and our 21st century technology
dependent life.
One of such event is the Solar Storm or Solar Flare that is expected in year 2012. This solar storm
will be a huge one as the sun is currently at the end of its 11th solar cycle.
Going by NASA's speculation this massive solar storm will hit earth by the end of 2012 and can cause
serious damage to our electrical and electronic appliances.

Good to know about your preparations. 
The major risk is associated with our satellites and space station, power generation and power
grids..
Hope our governments are able to tackle this problem.
