Reforming Canada's Foreign Aid
April 27, 2011 - 01:14 PM

Canada is just days away from its 41st Federal Election.

However a topic that has been seemingly absent from the agendas' of Canada's political parties is the Canada's development assistance.

This is quite problematic given that Canada donates $4.5 billion to foreign aid each year and was recently ranked 21st out of 35 countries in terms of aid effectiveness by the Centre for Global Development.

Given this rather alarming aid effectiveness report card, the NGO Engineers Without Borders Canada has launched the Foreign Assistance Reform Network (FARN)platform that is calling on political parties to commit to making Canada's aid more effective, accountable, and transparent.

The full platform is available at http://www.FARN.ca

The FARN site also has some AMAZING ACTION ITEMS to get you participating in the process!

1.Sending a letter to your local candidates
2. Tweeting Canada's Party Leaders
3. Tips on how to write a kick ass Letter to the Editor

We at EWB have set a goal of 2000 letters sent to candidates through FARN.ca by Friday!

Take action with FARN now because the best form of biwinning is aid that is TRANSPARENT AND EFFECTIVE!
