MEDIA CRACK DOWN IN UGANDA
April 24, 2011 - 02:43 PM

|
Following the ongoing " WAIK TO WORK" compaign over the drastic rising of fuel ,food and all basic essentials commodities, The broadcasting council of Uganda has blocked any live broadcast of any protest or rioting, hence threatening to revoke their license of Operation and yet people are being killed and some being detained without any clear charges.
I think this is the coming of Media/press censorship in this country since all the opposition parties leaders are now dumped in prison far away from the Ugandan Capital Kampala.
Does this means that Madia houses must report only news which favours Government's interest?

Mr.MIke, I agree with you to a greater extent, Most of the Ugandan so called political leaders are opportunists and are power angry. Both opposition and the government seems to be playing ping pong game, this make power to be concentrated in the hand of few individuals hence institutionalising themselves as the instrument of power. Long live Uganda...............
