Being a member of rotaract club and a student of social work itself, which also promotes the idea of volunteerism, for me Volunteering means "Service above Self"
Also, i feel that when you offer to help others out, you should try to be in their shoes, give first preference to what they think. there always is a good way of talking things out and deciding what is better for the person you are offering your help.
lastly,
"it is better to teach them Fishing rather than giving them fish everyday!"
help them help themselves

Volunteering to me means many things. It means bettering myself as a person, helping others, gaining new life and work experiences, meeting new people and just all around being a good person and helping others.

For me, volunteering means having to sacrifice and make our best effort to contribute to help others in needs with no condition attached.

Hi,
I love volunteering. It makes me feel good to know I help animals in need. I volunteer for a group called Equine Voices and Sanctuary. They specialize in saving horses before they are sent to slaughter. These horses are also known as PMU mares.
It gives these horses a second chance at life!
