Successful initiative to save the planet and improve the human condition, a message of hope
March 31, 2011 - 08:00 PM

We often talk about negative human impact and how we are destroying our planet. We often talk about corruption, exploitation of our resources and human. We often talk about the negative things we do but despite all these bad things, there are also so many good initiatives that we've done to save the Earth and improve human condition.

This thread is a message of hope, it's too late to be a pessimist.

What are the great successful initiatives and improvements we've done so far? Some countries/people are going out their confort zone and takes risks to improve the livelihood of their people and save their resources.

Lesotho have made education a priority in comparison to other developing countries and their people now have hope.

In Bengladesh, Muhammad Yunus, the Bangladeshi Nobel laureate, founded Grameen bank, which loans money only to the poor and changed the life of thousands of people.

Costa-Rica is pouring money into conservation of their forests rather than military spending.

Milions of young people, teachers and activists are involved in fighting deforestation and saving orangutans through innitiatives such as the deforestaction project.

Thousands of NGOs have committed to help the poorest on earth and millions of people give their time and money to help these NGOs.

Please add to this list, we are capable of the worst but also the best.smile
