Dear friends,
I am extraordinary pleased to welcome you to the first edition of the Model United Nations of the University of Oradea 2011. The beautiful and historical city of Oradea will host more than 100 future leaders from throughout the world that will gather at its renowned university to discuss global issues. Their care for the future of our world will translate into a common spirit and into lifelong friendships that will make our planet a better place.
The innovative approach of ORADMUN includes not only the Security Council, the Human Rights Council and the Economic and Social Council, but also the African Union and the Department of Public Information. It is the second time that the important and promising African Union is simulated at an international Model United Nations conference under my leadership.
Tomorrow’s brilliant leaders will travel far to gather in Oradea for an exciting week, uniting to find solutions to some of the most daunting current global challenges. The University of Oradea offers the ideal space to host this significant event that will contribute tremendously towards establishing a new universal sense of community.
A carefully selected team of competent organizers and chairs is working extremely hard to make ORADMUN 2011 a great success and an unforgettable experience for all participants.
It is a privilege for me to invite you to the historic and beautiful city of Oradea to address today’s challenges and to enjoy the unique atmosphere of Oradea as well as experience the wonderful Romanian culture and cuisine!
