Prince William's Engagement
November 26, 2010 - 02:31 PM

There is a lot of talk in the media about Prince William's new fiancee, Kate Middleton. Of course, with very subtle remarks, the journalists seem to be pointing out that she and her family are not royalty material.

What do you think about this? Is this actually true or is it just another fact imagined by the media?

Personally I find Kate Middleton to be worthy of being royalty, judging her manners, her looks and her attitude.

They said simliar things when Charles an Di got married all those years ago and it later emerged that the Spencer family has royal blood going back further than HRH. I don't know but I suspect that this wedding would not have been sanctioned if she really was a "commoner" and that the whole break-up phase of their relationship was done to some research going on.
Call me crazy but I can't see them leaving the providence of our future queen to chance.
It will be interesting to see what others say about it.

If you google her family tree you will see that Kate Middleton's family are related to the Spencers (Diana's bloodline) albeit a few generations back.

Indeed, as rsweeting said: there is too much at risk for them to have a "peasant" running the country.

Well yes I believe it is important to celebrate the royal wedding seeing as it is importantly symbolically for the people of England as well as the Commonwealth Nations. I think however, this wedding is less dramatic and has less hype than Diana's wedding as she was already high up in the social hierarchy.

I'm pleased for them and think the marriage will work and be a success.
