ICT to reduce costs of microfinance

A lot has been published about the role of ICT in micro finance. For the professional education institute Inholland, I'm designing a social multi-media platform about the cost reducing role of ICT in micro finance.
The target groups are student and software developers who are are active in the field of micro finance.
The key question at this moment is what makes a platform interesting (or fun) to contribute to.
Who would like to think with me about the ingredients of such a platform?
