Hi Daliya.
Knowledge and information. You need to be more specific. For quick general information there is Wikipedia. There was never a problem with books. The problem is with people. People that have valuable information have limited time to write books. People who have books have limited time to read. People who write books must make a business from writing so books are made for specific audiences which leads to too many books being written for shock and entertainment. People want information without effort. There are few books with real effort put into them because people stay away from the effort required to read into an Authors opinion which is usually between the written lines.
The best place for information is people who love information and love the punishment and effort of books and ideas written out in a very long way so as to show the same thing from many different points giving a better picture. Find these people and they will lead you to what you need which is the correct book for the subject in mind.

Thanks Robert for your reply , i mostly agree with you it's a matter of people they always seeks the easiest ways to have what they need , but in case of knowledge and learning we should be attached with trusted references so that's way books considered to be the most trusted one as you can't change the content and we are forced to respect the author rights the digital references don't always provide you with the most suitable info you need therefore it's available for anyone who can change it easily i didn't like the idea of online library or online reading because everyone can have book and many ones why should we go over the internet and look for it .

Well, if you look at something like Wikipedia, which anyone can contribute to, yes there is more information there than say, a published encyclopedia, however, the information might not be accurate.
If you are researching something, I would say books are the way to go, as I wouldn't trust most sources on the internet.
For anything else, it is always nicer to have actual paper there, you can scribble notes in the margins, bring a book to bed, read it on the train, shove it in your pocket. And if it has had to go through a publisher and editor first you know that at least someone has checked it before it got published.

Hi Daliya
It depends on which type of information I require, if it is news then I use nothing but the web now. However if I am learning a new skill or reading up on a topic to gain knowledge I am a book worm, i love books, they are so elegant.

See the way Marge says "The information I require". This is the specific that must first be seen as the need. Marge is correct in separating information from knowledge.
Books have No Knowledge. The Internet has No Knowledge. Only people are able to use information in what becomes knowledge.
Books have information. The information is only valuable when another person can use the information. When the information works for a benefit then knowledge has been transferred through transformation which is a transfer of information.
Only when a Universal Truth is able to be clearly written and used by everyone and any person can there be the possibility of knowledge in a written form. The problem there becomes how people read what is written. Information should be able to be changed as new information changes the way people acknowledge what is the best way to solve old problems in a new or more productive way. People will always fight against change when something works to solve problems from their point of view.
In all information there is the people who must know what information has the best value.
Show me one book with knowledge or where there is knowledge on the internet and there will always be the person attached to the information who must be proof of the information which then creates the possibility of knowledge.

Here is just another way of showing that each person must have the ability to use information in a knowledge and able way.
If there was knowledge in books then religion would be a recognized positive word. Religious books try to transfer knowledge but usually only transfer information. Religious people ALL say that they are loving but the first problem and there is a holy war. The knowledge of love is far different than the information of love. No one is able to read about love and then say they have that knowledge.
A cooking book may have very accurate information but the knowledgeable author is only able to share information. How knowledgeable the reader of the cooking book is can only be seen through applying the information into experience. When the cake gets burned the information was correct but the knowledge is still a process of the learning cook.
Trusting books is like trusting Einstein who wrote about many theories which are the knowledge of "As Far" which is another way of saying "Wrong" for now until we "KNOW BETTER". There are Laws made from Theories and these Laws should never be accepted as Truth just because they are in a book at the university. Searching for answers is still what people should be focusing on rather than thinking they have knowledge when they graduate. People who graduate have information. Knowledge "Becomes" to people who search outside of the "Box".
Einstein was wrong on many of his theoretical assumptions. Time will bring new and better knowledge through people that will be better information for future knowledge-beings.

I would say for business research this would be MINTEL, Euromonitor, and Business Source Premier. Wall Street Journal is good also.

If you're referring to news, I would read Al Jazeera or Democracy Now! But for a general knowledge of ideas, yes I would read wikipedia or sites that are easy to navigate around.
