Local Activities for the Year of Biodiversity

Hi everybody! I was looking for information about the events'schedule for biodiversity year... I was quite disappointed when I found out that, as far as Italy is concerned, the preschedules events consists mainly of seminars and workshops.. I thought it would be more useful to engage the community on a local level than endless talking....
how is biodiversity year celebrated in your country?
