Vevo Will Be A Complete Disaster

The dying music industry has teamed up with YouTube to create a music site called Vevo. They hope to amass an audience and make money via online advertising and related services. I got news for them – you are 10 years behind. Music consumption has changed dramatically in the past 10 years. The majors don’t control distribution any more, manufacturing is digital and so is promotion. At least on the internet it is – and that is where the growth is.
