Technology addiction

I wanted to warn the population about the technology addiction. The following text will show the danger of this addiction.
To start off, addiction to video games or computer make the user sit without moving much. Since the person is addicted, he can stick there for hours and hours. Consequently, it reduces the amount of time an addict can do sport and increase the chance of being obese. Usually, obesity brings diabetes and cholesterol problems. Sport reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases which are a high cause of death. Physical activities also reduce the chance of getting cancer.
To continue, technology addiction reduces the amount of time you can speak with “real” people. By “real” people I mean people you can actually interact with. Some genius tried to solve this problem with microphone or webcam but it still doesn’t allow you to touch them. You don’t have the pleasure of going out to a bar or do sport with that person. Therefore, the addict’s social abilities are way lower then people who speak continuously with “real” people.
These are the reason why it’s important to not get addicted with technology. Technologies also make the human think less because it’s just so easy. Everything is being made automatically by a robot or a system. It can be really useful in someone’s life as long as that person know how to responsibly use technologies. Doing sports remains the best way to stay in shape and to have a social life. This addiction affects the entire world and that’s why it’s important to prevent the world about the danger of being a technology addict.
In addition, wireless communication systems, like cell phone, emit radiation. This radiation is a radio frequency which may, at a certain level of exposure, be dangerous. Scientifics have made several researches on this subject. They exposed rats at cell phone’s radiation and found out they had developed a tumour after. They aren’t all affirmative on this point because they say they need to do more experiment. However, they do agree that there is a risk of using cell phones. So people talking hours with their cell phones have higher risk of developing cancers. A Swedish study shows that a high usage of cell phone increases the chance of developing a brain tumour by 240 percent. Also, one of my teachers told me that when you use cell phone your brain is being cooked like when you put a meal in the microwave. It is being cooked slower but still being cooked.
What do you all think about technology addiction?

The point is why people have technology addiction and how they stop it. Technology has no fault in making somebody addiction. It depends on how we use it properly.

I agree...we must not forget a simple thing that we made computers and technology they did not make us...being in control is the sole job of men...and there is a thing called LIMIT as well...if we the mankind cannot limit ourselves then not only technology but everything around us going to hurt us...

Technology addictions are definitely something that is increasingly becoming a problem across the worlds. Parts of Asia have already started implementing rules and regulations regarding Internet usage because of this epidemic. This is definitely an issue that I think parents should watch out for.
Here are a few tips for Parents regarding Internet addictions.

Spending a lot of time in something does not mean it is an addiction. Have you ever heard somebody say working addiction, study addiction or reading addiction when you spend day and night for work, study or reading? Checking e-mail is a need.

Technology is not only ruining our health but ruining our community. We seem to have less and less time for each other and more and more time spent sat in front of a screen with no interaction whatsoever!

My friend and I are sitting here contemplating about this discussion and we are in a partial quagmire. We agree that technology can be addictive and we really don't wanna get our brains fried but we think that technology is made for us. Just like all of us were put on earth for a purpose but the end justifies the means. At the end of the day it all goes back to your motives. What do you think?(it's a rhetorical question)

Hi
As far as addiction is concerned I think its impossible to turn back the clock. The whole mobile phone thing is a red herring. Most studies show there is little or no risk from mobile phones. You are exposed to more radiation living in scotland than using a mobile phone for 6 hours a day. The problem is scientists cannot say there is no risk however small the risk is.

Technology can provide a lot of positives, like resourceful information and the ability to communicate. However, everything should be done in moderation, right? Just like anything else that can be addictive, we have to monitor ourselves and make sure that we are getting fresh air, human interaction and not spending day and night in front of screens.
But just like a drug addiction, would you say that an addiction to technology is caused by an onset of depression?

Technology is known to ruin lives, weather it is their health, or social life, at some point, these addicts will lose their connection to reality.

It's all too easy to blame inanimate objects for our behaviour. Money makes it possible for us to be happy just as technology makes it possible for us to be lazy. Neither is a definite fact, canvas prints and other art forms free our minds.
