Freedom, Liberty....

See..today as I was sitting in my house...a thought struck me and in my search for answers I was led to this forum, There is so much outcry about freedom and liberty...freedom to choose our destiny, to live our lives, to express our thoughts...which is totally OK,...see freedom (whatever that means to you) must be managed...(managing is putting some checks and balances)..in short freedom must be guided... the question however is where does Freedom an the rules to exercise freedom meet..I mean where does freedom and the restrictions to practice that freedom meet..and what is the this standards that we should use to manage freedom..and why should we adopt the standards...considering the diversity of nations, cultures, religions etc..think about it...

To me, freedom means being conscious of your neighbours' rights and your neighbour being conscious of your rights too! Freedom and liberty, is so often mis-used and abused by people and nations today, because of the wrong and selfish conception of freedom.

this is a fasinating subject
as I am a big beleiver in FREE WILL
and freedom
But as you say
What does that mean
I think that the second quest
also has a good point of being abused
Each county, each village
all have there own set of rules they follow
just like in everyones homes
Each have their way of living, not that it works for every person, or for each others countrys
But freedom In my mind
means that everyone has a say or a vote
when it comes to makeing the general rule of how that group, family, village, country, choose to live
now I live in Canada
and we had a large group of people who had thought it was cool
to flag the us slave flag out on their banners, in a free country they felt they had the right
but being of a group that would have killed by these people, or enslaved
I said, Take them down please
they have he right to think what they want
But for me to see a civil slave flag flying next to the library made me feel angery
not everyone feels the same I am sure
but
Freedom does not mean, that it is ok
to subjagate, empovrish, or denie
anyone their rights to queit enjoyment of life
Once again,
I found this post most interesting

in deed..the part where they abuse freedom...see in my pursuit and enjoyment of freedon I need not hurt others...and since we are all so susceptible to hurting people then we are offered people to guide, manage us lest we hurt others now the irony is that when these people come into our lives they take away the freedom that we so badly want...fascinating[quote]

See..Edenstory..you take me deeper with your thoughts..I wish everyone would look at it with that analytical mind... we should persue freedom for all mankind to benefit and never at some ones expense and I guess that what makes this subject of freedom so delicate..

Thank you for your reply
I am glad you posted the subject.
As Freedom is a issue that is close to my heart. and my mind
as I see that we as people
no matter where we live
are loosing out freedom
to be
Even in countrys that say
we are free
if there is a question of threat
all freedoms are OFF
Which can be so missused
that is my conconern
and my hope that bright minds
such as yours
and those other young people(and Older) whos posts I have read
will open up the Change we are coming to
with Freedom in mind
If we are to change, it is my dearst hope
it will be, with a healthy Future
as the goal
Love
E
Oh how do you make those little boxes
so it is clear what it is that was said
I think they are marvolous
But have no idea of how to make them

If you're talking about the purple boxes that contain references to people's thoughts, then here's how you do it. Click the QUOTE button on the top right hand side of the person's opinion who you would like to respond to. Once you click that, you come to the typing your post page and there you can see some symbols and letters like br and < and span etc. The last word would have a "<" and a "/" and the word span. So after theword span, u can start typing. Then when you post ur views, you can see the purple box.
I think this is what you were looking for, if not, I hope we can help with anything else.
