Wonderful and congratulations. Only you would have to think well, reflect before taking decisions and make sure the as equitable representation of youths in the decision making process for that is the principal problem in our African setting.

Youths aought to be implication at the all the stages of the fight. Let them be part of it from conception to evaluation, then you would have done a great job.

Any best practices? or groups w/ children affected by HIV/AIDS
November 12, 2003 - 05:55 AM

I am with an NGO that has consultative status with the UN-meaning we can make statements at the UN Commissions where international policies are made. This we would like to make some statements regarding the role of youth in HIV/AIDS prevention. Currently, UNAIDS is collecting best practices "for effective prevention programmes and strategies for young people aimed at promoting the scaling-up of these programmes and at advancing the youth-specific targets of the 2001 UN General Assembly Special Session on HIV/AIDS Declaration of Commitment" and a few others. Check out their website for more info: www.unaids.org/

I would like to know specifically more about how youth are involved in HIV/AIDS programs. Any and all information would be helpful.

For another project, I am trying to gather contact information for groups specifically involved in advocacy or care of children affected by HIV/AIDS. The group I'm with is trying to distribute a survey to start an international advocacy campaign focused on children affected by HIV/AIDS.
