I was born is the UK and brought to South Africa as a baby, it was all good in South Africa although i did not agree with apartheid, our crime stats where low our education was pretty darn good and our health care system was also pretty good, i have spent 28 years in this country and have always regarded it as my home, but now, NO WAY im going back to the UK very soon because as A WHITE FEMALE in this country i have no hope of providing for my children and the crime in this country is pretty harsh, our children are longer safe, woman are no longer safe there is no safety anymore, our police force unfortunatly is in shambles, due to the fact that majority of them are corrupt, and the few goods ones that are left are fighting a loosing battle, our government is nothing BUT A JOKE, our beloved president thinks taking a shower after having sex with an HIV positive person will protect you from catching the virus, and of course that great statement HIV and AIDS are not related. NICE ONE DUDE.
I could go on for ever if i could i really think South Africa the beautiful country it is will land up just like ZIMBABWE which is a real pitty.

Hi I live in the UK. We have more CCTV cameras than any other country in the world. All our roads are watched and there are cameras that catch you speeding, there are cameras to check your insurance, there are cameras to check your car tax and there are cameras that check where you park. There are even cars with cameras on the roof to take pictures of illegally parked cars to make as much money out of the population as possible.
The government also wants to keep DNA samples of as many people as it can get away with.
There has been more new laws introduced since the Labour Party came to power than there has in the last hundred years.
Our country has been changed from a gentle trusting place to a paranoid impoverished society. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jo Devizes knows a womens website that is rather good.

Wow
it sounds like the UK has changed alot since I started school there
but I now live in Canada, the home of my Birth
and the changes we face are the exploytationn of our neighbors
We hold their power, and water, and the key to all their rescorses which are truly Canadian, not the US's
It looks like the US is going to be our name soon. I hope not in my life time'
but as I see it.
it will not be long
They are running the BC health industry
WHY they do not even have Health Care
maybe that is why ares is going wrong
But I love Canada
and so I have joined the new Internet world
to see if there is anything that can be done to aid our part in the Global Danger we face
to the Future

Hello everyone, I come from Malaysia.
Our system of governance is still of two worlds, the world of aristocrats and nobles on one foot, while the other; the common man's world. We're supposed to be a democratic country but then again it's the only country in the world ruled by the same political party for 50 years (UMNO). Elections are usually rigged, though nowadays since more and more people are educated due to the advancement of Internet and communications a growing number of otherwise docile citizens take their stance on issues that affect them. There is corruption which is a common disease for all governments alike, and there used to be a bizarre V for Vandettalike situation politically since the same political party also owns most major newspapers and controls the regulation of media permits.
Not bad, I guess. It's the state-enforced racism that sucks.

(IN)
(SHEEK)
(ENVOUGE)
in many parts of the world
I was unaware of how the old world, keeps crashing into the NEW
I am so glad to hear people are learning and educating themseleves on things that effect their home lifes
That must take alot of Courage
But when things matter at HOME

The reality of living in a country as opposed to having a holiday there is going to be quite different. The visitor will only have a fleeting idea of what it is like to really live in the country and will be oblivious to the problems of living there.
Ostensibly it is a relatively easy life to inhabit the UK but with the incredible proliferation of CCTV cameras as well as the huge explosion of other surveillance devices it is another type of life altogether.
The criminally stupid say 'If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear'.
Well yes that has a superficial validity but on the other hand I am not doing anything bad so why are you watching me, kiss off.
That is the dividing line. Why should a citizen have to prove that they are behaving in a lawful way, it s up to the government to prove that a law is being broken and act occurdinly
Make your ideas known through this website and I salute you all.

I think that the idea of visiting is much different from living
but when you meet people who live
in the area you visit
you get a small taste of what they are about
not just the resturants
But I had lived in England when I was younger, my mums from London, so is her family who are very close to my heart
I started school there
Now I have been a hermit for many years now, and since I have entere the 21 cen
by joinig the net socity
I have seen that the world has changed so fast
In England, I have been told, by letters in the post
that I would not believe the changes in the land where your living
not just becuase I have missed so many weddings and births, but because as you say '
Big Brother is watching
But what is it they are watching for?
No one has address this
and crime has always, and always be in every group of poeple
But to Watch that closley
makes me wonder what it is
they are really looking for?
As the World is changing
it appears to me
just returning to a life
outside my little farm
that those who are in Power
are worrid about keeping it
and as you say
Freedon is given in England
But still, the idea of those many cameras
means someone is worred about something
to the future
Love

Hey Guys,
I'm from Hong Kong SAR (special administrative region), China and it's very different from many places in the world. My city is practically an autonomous region that is technically part of China. The only Western equivalent of my city I can think of is Monaco, minus the casinos though.
The best thing about Hong Kong is that it's a compact city with lots to offer. There is also a lot of wealth in the city and this generally reaches most people, making it quite an equal society. There is of course poor people who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, but the government really makes an effort to help them out. My favorite thing to do back at home is to go yachting to the nearby islands and just enjoy the sun.
If you've got any other questions, i'd be happy to answer them!
Cheers,
Ben

Hi my name is Jon. I'm from Canada.
I love my country, I've been to many other places but I still love my home. I certatinly have come to love other places in the world as well but Canada will always be my home.
Canada is a country with a legacy, often described as peaceful, caring, etc but I find that people here are losing their sense of what it means to be Canadian. At one time, specificially the decades follow the first world war, we set out to define ourselves through such things as international peacekeeping, universal health care and a strong stand for our commonly held ideals, such as multiculturalism, whereby we accept all groups, cultures, etc for who they are but at the same time joining together for a greater good.
However, these times are being lost, I find now we define ourselve more by what we are not, namely the United States and our citizens fight to reinforce the idea that we are different. We are not Canadians, we are simply just not Americans.
I hope we can regain our past ideals and forge a new Canadian identity.
Thanks

I want to join in with the gentalman from Canada, I too have always been proud to say I am Canadian,AH!
But we no longer go OUT and ABOUT'
we are now simply north americans
and 2nd class citizens in our own country.
I am wondering if it is not time to start a NEW PARTY,
The HOME party,
For everyone who goes home at night, who wants a safe home, nutristious food, a good job, and Health covarage
Oh and clean world around us!
I have been reduced to embarrashmetn when I helped a young person up against the gov, by reading the Acts to help them with their case.
Canada, holds the Water, the Power, and resources the world wants. and what do we have as politaicans to lead us
People who are selling us OFF Cheap!
I guess, I am still angery about this
enought to find out how in Canada
a New Party can be formed
One that cares about the People Ah!
to the Future
Love

Well, I am very happy to hear from you, but today on my Biology class we were discovering the population dynamics and "bric" Brasil. Russia. India and China financial growth. I am very interested that China financial growing while so few have so much and so many have so few. Although, it's everywhere you go you will see the financial and social separation in people from poor to rich. Although, the gap between North America and Western World contrary the China is very very different.
I can go on and on about the subject we were discovering today @ my class, but I can say one thing, my teacher said that the internet is controlled by the government of China and everything what is not "good" would be filtered, so I even don't know if you really would get my reply.

Well right now I am in Canada and it's just a HEAVEN compare where I originally came from.
And I came from RUSSIA, the country that people here say as being "very cold" but infact the weather in Russia and the weather in Canada are the same. Even the snow is the same. Some people @ school all the time when i mention say "Oh, MY GOD!!! RUSSIA IS VERY VERY COLD COUNTRY!!!" but NO Russia is not cold country as people are describing. The weather are the same with all north countries such as Finland, North American and Northern Europe. Although, Belarus and Ukraine are pretty much are the coldest. I lived whole my life in Moscow, and have been in several cities in Russia and I would say Sibir is not as cold as Belarus and Ukraine.
Ha, ha, ha I again talk about the weather ,because it's Christmas soon and it's not snowing in my Canadian town and it's very very very cold.

Hi Im a hishskool girl living in south korea.
It could be more or less but in average, parants spend almost 700$
for their children's extra studies.
(If they are rich or not.)
And this tempered education is the biggest issue in politics and in whole society
