Clown does sick joke on the earth from outer space.

So the guy from the Cirque du Soliel is spending $25 million to go into space to tell people that many countries don't have a safe supply of drinking water.
I think we are very aware of this situation, what we really need is $25 million to spend on it to make it better.
Shoving a red nose on and pulling a silly face is really insulting to the people who have to walk for miles to get water, which may not even be safe.
Personally I think it was an obscene gesture and I think he should appologise to the world for his thoughtless behavior.

I agree. This man, with his imaginatively worded speech, was actually contradicting himself. The water he talked of, was water he could have bought with his twenty five mil. But instead he went into space and joked above the world, about those who have no water and who should be given water by those that have more than enough water and money. He should be apologizing to those he could have saved, to those whose families grieve for a lost one who walked hundreds of kilometres for a glass of dirty, disease strewn water, water that he could this clown could have bought by the truck load, and cleansed of diseases. He could have saved alife, but he was to selfish to do so, and he may now regret it.

Although I partially agree with the previous posts, I do see the benefit in his extravagant media circus. The $25M he spent simply bringing the issue to the forefront was worth it in my opinion. Think about it - I bet there are a great number of fortunate people in the world that don't even think about water availability issues in their day to day lives. In my mind, the amount of money and effort that could be raised by a truly aware society to address this problem overshadows the $25M proce tag of the space circus. I think one of the main issues with sustainabilty in general is getting everyone on board. I think Guy's efforts were well-intended.

Perhaps I do a dis-service but I think to blow 25 million dollars on a trip is an indulgence. I think, deep down, he felt guilty about spending this amount of money on one item.
If there was a collection, and a proportion of the ticket money gathered at the end of every Cirque du Soliel performance, that would be a step in the right direction.]
Maybe they could have a message held up at the end of each performance which would be a good way of publicising the plight of safe water in the world.
That would be better than cloaking this jolly in a faux charitable cloak. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jo Devizes knows a womens website that is rather good.

Yes, I agree that was a bit too much. However, I do not discount the fact that it could have been his lifelong dream to see outer space just like many other men and boys.
His case may have been at the higher end of extravagance but in reality this is no different from the men and women who opt to buy designer labels costing $2,000 when they can buy something for $50 and donate the $1,950 to charity.
