Political Trade-off
September 16, 2009 - 09:20 AM

The current Mau-Ringera political trade off has gone to show how uncommitted our leaders are to development. the purpose we elected them for seems to have eluded them to a point that no values exist and that our politicians are not governed by principles but rather selfish ambitions and the need to propergate their personal political life. Leaders that we elect , we hope that they are people of principles who will stand besides their convictions regardless of the future. it is very frightening to see that somebody is ready to forgo protection of corruption or of the environment just so that he can serve his own purpose.
i would rather have a leader stand with a wrong principle till the end rather than have one with good principles, but can be easily swayed to accommodate others. This shows how unprotected and unrepresented we are.

thank you my african friend.
the issue here is that some of us should start blaming ourselves even when those so-called leaders tend to do everything as if they are the creators of the universe. i am saying this because when its come to elections in Africa, we the voters do not cast our votes for quality leaders but rather for colours, tribes etc failing to realise the after effect will not only affect others but even those of us who help these selfish politicians to power.
One thing i know is that, politicians by themselves are nothing but if some of us are looking at them as if they are the creators of the universe, then they will surely treat us as under-dogs.
therefore, we should always gear ourselves for positive changes before elections by properly educating the other voters to elect quality leaders and we should stop crying after elections as they are now protected by the constitutions which are the laws governing all of us with more exceptions to these so-called leaders.
it takes time for a change but if we are prepared for it, then it will surely come no matter how long it takes.

True.... we the ones that create the issues and the problem by being driven by our ethinical affiliations rather than the quality leadership. Forums like this help us open our eyes to the prevailing situations.
