PEACE FORUM INVITATION

As part of the Celebrations for World Peace Day on September 21st 2009, The Human Rights Arts and Film Festival together with Peace Day Australia, The Peace Organisation of Australia and Federation Square are presenting a Documentary Screening and PEACE FORUM - hosted by Tracee Hutchison. We are inviting members of the diaspora communities of Victoria to particpate in a discussion looking to identify:

What are the necessary factors for Peace in a community and what factors disturb peace?

What are the solutions for transforming a turbulent society into a more Peaceful one, Education? Legislation? Government Policies? International intervention? A council of Elders?

Are we becoming more or less Peaceful ? -Have we learnt the lessons of War?

We would also like to hear stories of people who have fought to find peace in their lives? Through conflict resolution, migration, or any other means. What are your stories?

The Forum will be accompanied by a screening of the Documentary SOLDIERS OF PEACE and some light entertainment.

Location: BMW EDGE - Federation Square Cnr Flinders st and St Kilda Rd.
Time: 6:00pm
Entry: $10 concession $15 full
