Cycling for a Safer Future

Hi everyone,
My name is Kim Nguyen and I am currently cycling from Australia to Denmark, to arrive in Copenhagen the day before this December's climate change negotiations begin. I have been undertaking this journey in order to raise awareness about the current impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities throughout the world and encourage people to take practical action to reduce their carbon footprint. Over the course of my journey the project has developed such that now I, and the people who have joined and supported me, are organising a world-wide cycling environmental action to take place the day before the climate change negotiations begin. The action is calkled Ride Planet Earth and simply involves cyclists taking to highways, streets and dirt tracks wherever they are to show how action is possible and urge the government delegations meeting in Copenhagen to take the action necessary to make sure our climate stays safe.
You can find out more at rideplanetearth.org. We are currently trying to organise as many rides as possible for Dec 6th.
So if anyone would like to participate and especially if you can organise a ride in your local community please email me at kim@ideplanetearth.org so we can get it sorted out soon. We are still looking for volunteers to helkp set up rides, especially in Africa, South America and Asia.
You can also participate by joining the Ride Planet Earth Challenging and swapping your automobile use for a more environmentally friendlt alternative.
