Ha. There's lots of violence in cartoons. South Park? Robot Chicken? Even the children cartoons show the occassional exaggerated punch to the face.
I don't think it affects us in any way except for good laughs. If there's fear that it will affect anybody negatively, then the parents shouldn't let their kids watch it.

Well, as a kid I loved watching the Tom & Jerry show and to be very honest I found them cute and never thought about the kind of violence the show has.
The only thing I got out of it then was that no matter what both of them were good and enjoyed chasing each other.
It was only later in life with the literary theory and other stuff that I started noticing those things... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anu Maheshwari

That is true. Parents have the responsibility of checking what their kids are watching. If a program says that their show is not intended for young audiences, then make sure that your kids are not watching them.

High levels of violence in cartoons such as Scooby-Doo can make children more aggressive.
To minimize the effect of the violence in cartoons on children, cartoons must be produced with knowledge of their impact. I think, cartoons should not make use of household tools like knives or other kitchen appliances. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kim Jorret, toolsrate
