HIV/AIDS awareness campaign - please advise

In helping to achieve the MDG's, specifically MDG 6, the Non-Profit which I created, Project World Citizen, would like to implement an HIV/AIDS awareness campaign.
Our first project (a computer lab) as Project World Citizen begins in the town of Banko, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. This is a rural village where the nearly 100% of economic output is generated through farming. Students are given few opportunities to further their education, thus HIV/AIDS knowledge is low, and stigmatism is high.
Since we are already connected to the town of Banko, Project World Citizen would like to be able to advise youth and community members about HIV/AIDS. Many youth in this area will be pressured to leave the community to find jobs in bigger cities, or they will be enticed by the prospects of more money being earned away from their community. Risky sex can become very typical in these 'youth moves to the city' situations and we would like to educate these students about practicing safe sex, what HIV/AIDS is, how it is contracted, etc.
Right now we are seeking the advice of our TIG members to help us identify the areas which you feel are most important in an awareness campaign such as this one. Please leave your comments on which issues/areas need to be addressed, effective ways of presenting this information, what would/would not work in Africa, Ghana, and rural communities, and anything else you think would be useful as we plan for this presentation.
Thanks in advance for your feedback fellow TIG Members!

I appreciate that, you have got good idea. The first thing you need to keep in mind is not to jump directly into the place. First find out their felt needs and try to be familiar with them so that they can trust you and further you can launch your program. All the best. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- sun-e-boy (सूर्य)

Thanks for the reply.
I have been invited by the community to introduce the awareness campaign. They want their students educated and informed to help clarify any myths associated with HIV/AIDS, and also to teach safe practices.
Now I'm looking to find out what works, what won't work, where to start, what to teach, how to teach it, how to involve the participants, how to get the message across, and anything else that could be helpful in an awareness campaign such as the one I've proposed.

If you are living with HIV please complete this survey. It is for my Master's thesis and it would be of great help.
