need help marketing Nepal

This is what I have been finding extremely difficult. We have 0.1% of the total land mass in the world, but one fo the richest eco-biodiversity in the world. We have eight of the highest mountains in the world and a very friendly race of people. Still we are having such a hard time marketing our nation. The maoist stuff is not the only detterent to our nations economic success.
I think we need more active marketing of our nation on the tourism front. Since the decline started in 1999, tourism is now down to 1987 levels (thats 16 years ago, for gods sake).
I have a travel agency working in responsible travel in Nepal and am interested in marketing nepal and getting tourism up again. I need help from people out there (in my market) who can send me referrals, or refer me to colleagues etc...so that we can jointly make a difference in this country.
We have one of the worlds richest water resources, but it will not make this country any better in the near future as we cannot tap it. We have 98% of our population in agriculture, but it will not make us rich as we are still under subsistence levels there. Hence the only way out of this rut for our country is tourism and whether the maoists help or create blocks, that is the only way out. So lets join hands and make a difference. Lets take nepal global....
