Should they be allowed to use...such language on TV?

I was watching South Park the other day and I heard "Asshole" and got shocked at it. It was too bad hearing people say things like "What the f**k are you doing?" and "That is bulls**t!" in America, but now I'm in Canada and hear such..Shocking words in teen shows. Do you think they should be allowed to curse on TV?

In my opinion there has to be a policy of censoring in each programme showed on t.v coz regardless to freedom of speach or whatever.. people of different ages and beliefs watches these programmes and it is insulting to hear such words !!

I think that after, say 9pm when the children should be in bed, anything goes. Lets face it., the language we use every day would have had great grandmother running for the Church or the cane to beat us.

There's no point in censoring swear words on TV when people use them in real life anyway. If they don't get it from tv, they'll hear it from freinds and family. I heard a seven or eight year old describe an actress as 'sexy'. I still wonder what an eight year old would know about sex appeal to even use that word. We've become so inured to foul language it doesn't surprise most of us anymore.

I agree that those words should not be used on TV. What we need to do is to educate our kids about what these words actually mean and the harm that they do. Sometimes kids use these words without actually knowing what they mean. One time I heard a 5 yr old swear and when I asked him what it means, he said he has no idea but he heard it and thought it was ok to use it.

RIGHT !language on out televesions even for a kid who finds it amusing at certain intervals good is and has gone too far * as the younger genereation i belive there should be a example sent.
words are more more expressive than actions and WORDS CAN CHANGE THIS WORLD.
All the wars will be sorted and there wouldnt be if people spoke and had some elequent and sorted it out like adults.

It would be a good exercise for the writers etc to try to use language in a more creative way. Possibly the older members of the audience would enjoy it but the younger ones may not understand. Sadly, expletives are the punctuation marks of their speech.
I would prefer to hear the word than a beep. There is nothing so annoying than to have a load of beeps on a tv show. It is the same with nudity, I think there is nothing so ridiculous as those American publications that show naked women with two huge crosses of black tape across the nipples. That is so juvenile, as to see them is going to deprave the entire male population. It is the same sort of thinking that forces women to cover up in Muslim countries. One can only imagine, although I would rather not, what goes on in the minds of the people who create and support these draconian, yet ridiculous laws and mores. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jo Devizes knows a womens website that is rather good.
