how do you perceive your parents behaviour?
July 9, 2009 - 09:41 PM

Parents are always busy thinking about the betterment of their children; however, at times they come down harshly on the children. Being a son or daughter, how should we perceive their harsh behaviour? Is there any experience that you’d like to share on how you handle such behaviour?

As they are busy and dont have time, they may be harsh on us....I always filter their words ie just ignore them if they are scolding us...when iwas kid I didnt speak with my for 3 days for a single reason..I didnt knew that she was tensed, she scolded me and I stopped speakin to her for three days....she too was so bold that she didnt speak..finally I had to...as I cant help myself without speaking to her.....So from that day onwards, I just ignore if it doesnt faavor me....in cases of my mistakes(when Im scolded), I just bow my head and listen to them..as a gentle girl...*

Usually, when they get frustrated at or around me (which is quite often) I try not to respond with anger. That makes it worse. Like Yashoda said, bow my head and listen. If I respond I try to do so calmly.

When my parents start scolding me I really try not to listen, because simply when I tried to listen I heard things that got me mad so I stop listening to what they say.

for example, most of the time when my parents start scolding me they would be talking about how shouldn't I be like other girls, most of the time if I did listen I might start saying things that might be true but would lead to bigger problems leading for them to maybe hitting me, so I got used to live in another world when they are talking.
