Decriminalizing Homosexuality in India

The Indian High Court ruled on July 1st, 2009, that homosexuality was no longer a crime in India. Read more about he ruling, and the law here

At the same time, like in many other parts of the world, homosexuals have been periodically harassed in India, like in this one case

As the second-most populated country in the world, a rising superpower, and one that is in the forefront of politics in South Asia, India plays an important role in the world.
