7 Marketing Lessons From Billy Mays
July 6, 2009 - 08:56 AM

Hey,

I read this really interesting article on 7 Marketing Lessons From Billy Mays :

1. Have a solid product
2. Listen to consumers
3. Show how your product can make people’s lives easier
4. Include a Call-to-Action
5. Run a small test before launching a broad campaign
6. Conduct A/B Testing on Successful Ad Campaigns
7. Watch the competition

Do a quick search on Google or Bing and you’ll discover that Billy Mays was not well liked but advertisers loved him. People hated being yelled at them through their TV sets. However Mays was very successful at what did. In fact he pitched over 30 of the most popular brand names (more like he made them brand names).

Ofcourse, it is very important for every good social or corperate entity to do some market survey before launching any product. this will definitely help in knowing the your customers and their views.

I always found that products presented by Billy Mays always stuck in my mind the most.

Another technique I've noticed that proves successful, is when the company's CEO or main representative aka 'the face' of the company comes and endorses the product.
