Introduction
Lampung Province, which has a land area of ± 35376.5 Km2 including the 69 islands, located in the 103o040 'BT up to 105o050' BT and 03o04’5”to 06o04’5” LS with a long coastline ± 1,105 km (including some islands) is divided into 4 coastal area, among other West Coastal area (± 210 km), Semaka Bay (± 200 km), Lampung Bay and the Sunda Strait (± 160 km), and East Coast area (± 270 km).
In this area can be found sea turtle sanctuary (Marine Officer of Lampung Program in 2007) because in this region is a place of laying (spawning grounds) of various types of turtles, such as sea turtle.
Biology and Geography of Kiluan Bay
In addition to the diversity of natural, Kiluan Bay have a diversity of the population of some tribes, such as the Sundanese, Javanese, Balinese, Bugis, to Lampung, so wonder if the population does not have customs for different of religions and languages. However, they all can live with principium and side by side.
the village of Kiluan Bay has a main village (Pekon Kiluan Affairs) is a region that has a land area of the coastal hills to the beach. One example is the village of Bandung Jaya. This area includes the hamlets along the coastal bays and an island (Kelapa Island / Kiluan Island) and including the region Pekon (village) Kiluan State, Kelumbayan Subdistrict, Tanggamus District, Lampung Province.
This region can be achieved through the sea more than 3 hours of the Auction Center of Fish (PPI) Lempasing. In addition, can also be reached overland by car (until the Pekon Kiluan Affairs) and motorcycles (up to Bandung Jaya) for more than 1.5 - 2 hour journey from the city of Bawang. Bandung Jaya village population is quite diverse, this can be found when visiting the region. The main livelihood of the people are fishermen, so they rely entirely on the resources of the sea is relatively abundant. Residents of this village of fishermen normally use only jukung ships and equipment such as traditional fishing nets and rawai. In general, they catch sea fish, such as fish, gray (cob), tuna, tenggiri, lemadang / senggeranai, and marlin / setuhuk (seasonal), and with the results of this sea, they try to be adequate to the needs of everyday life.
It coastal itself to be a region, with the composition of rocks, sand, forests, mangrove areas (mangroves) and coastal forest (Littoral forest) to add distinctive charm. More than 4 kinds of vegetation (plants) of mangrove forest which can be found around the village of Bandung Jaya, such as Mangroves (Rhizophora sp), Api-api (Avicenia sp), Nypa (Nypa fruticans), Drujon / Deruju (Acanthus ilicifolius). Generally, the mangrove forest is located in this village are still intact and can be adequately communicating with the local community.
