Melissa, "drug, broadly speaking, is any substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function."
In another definition "a chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental well-being."
In law there is no definite definition for drugs because basically everything we take as a medicine can be used as a drug when ever overdosed, and many foods as beers, wines, and some mushrooms, blur the line between food and drugs.
So what I wanted to clear out was that we all had taken drugs in our lives in a way or another, our body needs those things, but the problem begins when the drug is over dosed, some drugs are stronger than others, but it all leads to one road which is addiction if it was used in the wrong way.

Yes but some are jolly nice. How many of the world's greatest cultural icons would never have come about if the artist hadn't taken some mind altering substance. From John Lennon to Samuel Tayor Colleridge and beyond.
