What do you Think of War?

I have always thought war was stupid, and I think this is shown in my poetry submitted to the panorama, and I wanted to know what other people think.

i hate it its so stupid and pointless. i have nevere been part of a war, but in our hitory section at school about World war 1 and 2 i realised that there was no point to it what so ever it brings more bad than good to the world anyway, such as: high death rates; suffer; pain ;dispare; heatlh problems; bombs emite more carbon dioxide which causes more global warming

War. Simply, war is a battle of two different political groups. But behind the war over politics it is also a war that places millions of innocent people in risk. War is a selfish thing. And, more recently, war has been justified by saying that it is a war on terror. The truth is, you can not combat terror with more terror.

I agree, I detest war and think it's a horrible waste of life.

I think war is definitely something we can eliminate in future. You could definitely describe humans in general as warlike, but all impulses can be channelled constructively.
I would hate going to war. I wouldn't want to follow any rules. I think if a situation is desperate enough that it requires war, then it is definitely desperate enough that anything goes.
Unfortunately we fight plenty of wars according to conventions, meaning that the reality is probably different.
Can you justify fighting for more than your survival? Perhaps, but in general, war is something we should strive to eradicate.

I really believe that war is essentially mass murder, people are horrified at the occasional murder, but when faced with the hundreds of thousands of death in war, merely shrug it off.

As Bertrand Russell said,
War does not determine who is right -- only who is left.

Wars are an uncivilized way of saying I hate you or I don't understand you, and it's a really pathetic one as well, and definitely stupid, I don't know why people could have chose it as a "solution" of problems, but they did.
Wars are a ritual right now that won't end, no one is a winner in them and everyone is a loser, which demonstrate again how pathetic it is.

I hate it too. Its so stupid. Some people don't think that the people in the war have a family. When you lose someone in the war its not that fun. You just lost someone because PEOPLE are too stupid to think that it would be better to be in a peaceful world then fighting all the time. Think about that. The world would be so nice if everyone would live their life and not bother eachother.
So that why i think that war is stupid.

i believe that war is an activity that will only benefit one state or one country. this should be stopped. any misunderstandings in every country must be taken lightly. instead of them putting the state in war, they should have a conference and talk how they can resolve the problems that happened in a professional way. though it, there can be unity and peace, not war. war will only bring problems and it will just destroy our planet earth, the only place where humanity can live.
