Zim issues

Hey everyone
Im really new to this site and in need of a lot of help. There are major issues in Zim and our crippled economy has resulted in many being deprived of an education. Im at University in South Africa and many students are finding it hard to pay their fees and are soon faced with financial exclusion. We already have a "brain drain" problem and now that we cant even afford to pay for our education, and teachers are going on strike things are only getting worse.
Where you guys come in: I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out with ideas on how to start some sort of bursary fund for needy students from Zimbabwe attending university in South Africa.
PLEASE THIS IS REALLY URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you start a Junior Enterprise?
If you don't know what it is: it's a company started by university students (with the help of teachers) and they do consulting jobs for small companies for a price a bit lower than that of the market (so they can guarantee clients) and are also active in the social development of their city/region. It's a great way to raise money, gain experience and complement that which is studied in the university.
There exists JE in various different courses (economy, engineering, fashion, agriculture, zoology, business, arquitecture, computer science and a lot more I can't remember now...).
If you want more information, you can contact Luiz Cavalcante at luizcavl@yahoo.com.br He is the Development Director of Brasil Junior (the brazilian association of Junior Enterprises)

Hi Ness,
I really appreciate your courage. But to add to wat Larrisa suggested i think you should also try and find out the Zimbauans around South Africa, and rally around them, explaining wot you intend to do. They will surely want to help. And i bet not just advisory roles, they will also help financially.
May God strenghten you in your quest for better education for the youths in your country.
Keep it up.
And i wish you all the best.
I feel its a passing phase for Zimbabue, PEACE SHALL REIGN SOON!!!!!!!!

HI Ness!
I think you should try to approach ngos and political parties within south africa that are concerned abouth the zim situtation. I think these organisations and parties can
help you guyz to start some form of fundraising and get local south african business people involved. try the democratic alliance, independant democrats and the sacdp.
If there is any further progress let me know maybe I can help.
Simiso Ntobela
good luck

Interested in obtaining bulk Zimbabwe currency for US dollars

Hello Ness. Your money is not worth much to you but there are collectors who will pay for it. Good luck. Brian in Canada
Wish to obtain bulk amounts (100 - 1000) of foreign paper currency for a fair price. Currency does not have to be in perfect condition (that would be nice) but cannot be ripped, holed or written on. I’m hopping this will give a local entrepreneur of limited means the opportunity to make a little usable cash & acquire worldwide contacts, and allow myself to amass a hoard of currency for collection & trade. I’d pay 3 ½ x local value in US dollars (cash) plus fair postage. For instance:
1000 x 1 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $0.12 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $0.42 US
1000 x 2 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $0.23 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $0.81 US
1000 x 5 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $0.56 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $1.96 US
1000 x 10 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $1.12 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $3.92 US
1000 x 20 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $2.24 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $7.84 US
1000 x 50 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $5.60 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $19.60 US
1000 x 100 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $11.20 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $39.20 US
100 x 500 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $6.00 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $21.00 US
100 x 1000 Dollar’s Zimbabwe is only worth $12.00 US in Zimbabwe as of May 26, 2005. I’d pay $42.00 US
Postage Canada to Zimbabwe Surface rates
(0.0 lbs. – 0.6 1bs) 0g - 250g $4.95
(0.6 lbs. – 1.1 1bs) 50g - 500g $6.85
(1.1 lbs. – 2.2 1bs) 500g - 1kg $11.50
