Yes, it was an idiotic thing to do by the Indian Government. It does not worry me much becuase it seems to demonstrate a massive amount of incompetence.

What does worries me is firstly, now that they've tried this, they're bound to try it again in the future. And get better at it.

Secondly, the bad publicity this is generating for India is incalculable. Mostly from former IT professionals in the US, with US jobs being outsourced to India this is starting to look like a wave of bad publicity for the country.

The problem is this, it was all well and good when India was the place losing all its intellectual capital to America, but its not fine when India seeks to compete on a level playing field by providing a better and cheaper enviroment for software development.

How long before the idiotic spat between India and Pakistan becomes spun by the worldwide media (read: US media) as being a 'Grave threat to the people and the interests of the United States of America' ?

It would be convenient to have a military presence near China & India (the only 2 developing countries in the world that are rather clear in their disdain of a unipolar, noe superpower dominated world) wouldn't it ? The better to help in Economic Sanctions or the occasional 'Regime change'. Weapons of Mass destruction... whoops, both countries have them... and are rather proud of that for that matter.

Not that the US Government is interested in nurturing and helping developing nations. Why add to the competition when you're the top dog ?

Lastly, if anyone actually reads this... lets get this right, the US is Republic, not a democracy. The government does not require the consent of the people in order to do what it wants.

well as for me i don't think that is the best decision at all .Again i think this decision will really affect the IT development in India and again ,investors in IT will also be looking out for somewhere else since this is another good medium of publicising their work.
just my opinion on it.
