How to promote free and open sourse software?

Hi all,
Do you have ideas on how to promote free software in our
respective countries? while most of them are still using windos or commercial
softwares some persons and institutions has choosen to use only free and open sourse software for their computer use.
In my oppinion the spreading of free software is a step towards equal access to information and it should be promoted.
I look forward to your active participation.

There are several ways allowed you to do so. First, as it's an open source software, you can add it into sourceforge.net. Besides, you can consider add into download.com and you can get huge downloads.
