Hi all, I'm doing a project on cultures and would like to know your opinion about the second best way to learn other cultures, apart from visiting the country...
Please elaborate your response as much as possible
Thank you!

Trade and Travel are the two best vehicles to learn about other cultures. These were available since the Civilization had begun. History is the evidence to my statement.
Internet Communication is the third best vehicle.

I think that getting to know people from another culture is a great way to get to know that culture. About a year ago I went to a salsa workshop in Saskatoon, near where I live. I loved it so much that I joined a class. Through that class I met a few Latino people. After the class was done I started going to a restaurant in my city that has salsa dancing on Friday nights. During the time that I was going there consistently I made a lot of Latino friends and I feel like I understand the culture a lot better now than I did a year ago.

Hey Everyone!
I guess the best way to learn other cultures is getting to know its people , only people gonna reflect and present their culture well , Don't depend on the media , because Media doesn't show all the truth sometimes .. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "What most people need to learn in life is how to love people and use things instead of using people and loving things."

Hi everyone...
well I think that the best way to learn about another culture is communication with people from that country (I think that someone said that), Internet of course, and books about that country. That books can provide you some useful info about history, culture (any kind of art-painting, music, literature), folklore, social characteristics etc..

The best way to learn about other cultures is to immerse yourself in it. Get to know the people and their traditions, values, etc. A lot can be learned from by communicating with others.

Buses
I found it interesting to visit any places. It is not necessary to have a friends or any guiders. Just read some documents about the city you wanna travel and their buses. NOt all popular places are the best choices. I believe that.I bet you will have great days!

While students may benefit from a more multiculturally focused education, the best way to learn about other cultures is, as many of you have already said, to try and meet people from that culture and immerse yourself in their cultural activities. Books can only teach you so much; the most valuable learning experiences come from connecting with people from those cultures and experiencing their traditions. If access to people from the target culture is limited, you can still try and connect with them online! While not the same as face-to-face interaction, it would still provide helpful information that is easy to attain.
