SHOULD EMPLOYMENT BE DONE BASE ON ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS OR ON PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES?

Today, the unemployment rate is getting on the increase despite the levels of learning by the world's population.
Therefore, we should start asking ourselves the above questions because; most institutions today are asking for job experiences before one could be employed. the irony here for me is that how will one get experience for future jobs if the opportunities are not there to gain these experiences before any other jobs?

It should be based on both i think, also it should also be based on how much you want the job and how much you're willing to train for the job

it should be both. academic performance tells the critical thinking ability of the person and practical experience tells of the work ethics.

i think both are important and experience has priority over the qualifications in employment.

for a fresh graduate the employer cannot ask for experience so should go with the qualifications of the graduate, and once the graduate works and gains experience then it is a change for him and and his future employers coz he will be completly based on his experience first and then qualification.

i would say that a good qualification gains you a good experience and a good experience gains you a good career.

I get your point. I don't understand why companies ask for previous experience. Especially in my country, I don't get it. There is a first time for everyone. Most often here, people applying for a job the first time usually pay to the HR to get in or use their connections to get into the company. So I don't see how experience or academic qualifications matter in the above case.
And I don't like the concept of choosing someone based on their grand CV. After all, the real test for a job is dedication and sincerity in doing your job. Companies should hold an entrance test instead of just going by academic qualifications because people may be qualified for the job but may not have aced their courses at university.

I also know that many companies hire employees based on their looks, especially those candidates who represent the company, who are the visible face of the company. So all the pretty girls get selected for those jobs. You should also ask if employment should be based on looks.
