well...
we all know that there is corruption in many sides in many countries.. many nations...

and some people know that! but they are afraid if they uproot the current corruption... worst corruption will be replaced!...

after all.. you can't get high in one step!

and there is something important about corruption in nations and countries..
that if the head him self or her self.. is corrupted that will lead to corruption from the head until it reaches the bottom of the pyramid... so you see the ( for example: the president the minister .. the police.. even people them selves )

coz there is nothing to stop them...

i hope my point is clear ...

In my country (Zambia), our late president, Levy P. Mwanawasa (MHSRIP) was a strong factor in the fight against corruption, and even after his death, there's a definate change in how people treat corruption cases. Ministers and people in power and being caught and charged. So here, I would say, it is somewhat taken has a criminal offence. We even have an Anti-Corruption Commission.
It takes people to stand up in order to start something. Corruption is very hard to fight and I doubt it will ever be fully eradicated, but it can be reduced. I believe that has to start from somewhere. ^_^

as you said Pauline N. it has to start from somewhere

but if that somewhere is still not existed...!

i'll speak a little bit about how is it here

in Palestine we are under occupation and israelis almost every thing in this country! even though we have an authority a president and ministers.. but they can't move a thing without a permission from the israelis... the problem is that our authority are controlled ( after israelis ) by some people who can do whatever they want! and it's rarely to see someone trailed because of his corruption..

that 56% of the aids goes to people who are not poor!
millions entered palestine and no body knows where they went...

and thats for both governments we had before 2006 and after 2006

we have an ugly political situation here... too much corruption... and nothing in hand to do!
and we have this distinguish between Rural people and city people... and most of the police are from Rural areas! imagine how is it in the city !

dear reader,

corruption is an offence, there is no doubt. this white collar crime is very hard to detect, the avaliablity of evidence is neglible therefore such kind of criminals do away esily without geting punished.
corruption is definitly a crime.

Yes, corruption should be made a crimial offence with possible life term sentences handed out. The number of people who die due to hunger in India, who don't have food for days and days, even thought the governemnt has sanctioned so much aid, just because corrupt middlemen like ministers, and other officials etc, funnel away the money that's supposed to feed drought hit or hungry people. Its as good as murder if you're responsible for someone's death.

Corruption is a criminal offence punishable by law in my country. It is therefore very normal that countries should embark on an anti corruption war. A typical example is that of my country where the government launched operation '' sparrow hawk'' to trap down all government officials who are involved in corruption and embezzlement practices. There has been arrests and detention of those found guilty. This has made many officials to be on their guard because they are afraid to fall a victim. This has somehow reduced the level of corruption in my country which has been eaten by the cancer of corruption to the marrow of the society.
Nations should declare war to corruption. Although its eradication will not be automatic, there will definitely be change in people's behavior vis a vis corruption.

There'll always be corruption, sadly.
It makes me very sad to think how evil people can be - everything for money - and they'll never get caught.
