an indigenous person could be a person belonging to an indigenous tribe. usually tribal peoples are referred to as indigenous people. those who have retained their culture and traditions and live in the way their ancestors have been living for centuries. the jarawa , sentinelese from the andamans tribes are indigenous.
we don't normally hear about them because they don't have a strong voice to be heard. in this sea of people, and their lack of modern knowledge makes them extremely vulnerable.

We must understand them as human beings, address their concerns, involve them in decision affecting their survival, livelihood, safety, security.
How can we empower them?Governments have violated the very existence of the indigenous peoples.
Under international law,the native peoples of the world have
-the right to exist as distintive peoples of the world
-right to possession of their territories
-right to sovereign rule and self-determination.
-right to control their own affairs and destinies
It is a a matter of rightful concern that Indigenous people must decide the fate of their social, economic and cultural rights
