How can we enhance political stability in country?
May 23, 2009 - 02:32 PM
|

Today a New Primeminister was selected by parliament as Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal had resigned from his post. Its just been more than one year that Mr. Dahal had been running the government.
Because of the frequent change in government system, the developmental activities are hindered. It can be true for any country, so what can be done to sustain the government?

I think that this a big challenge in Nepal.
Maoists, army, and the present ministry have a role in it.and ofcourse, nepalese civil society as well.

i don't know much about Nepal
but we kinda have the same problem here
i think there is a big problem in some countries especially the developing countries about governments... that they think that the governments should do every thing and can do any thing... while people are part of this country they should do what they can... one person can't do every thing
but to answer your question... we should first know the reasons for why the government or part of it keep resigning.. find the problems and solve it...
people must choose the government very carefully.. and elect the best people who can make difference
thats a problem many countries face
if there is a divide between two parties one of them is taking the Gov... and they are fighting... only one of them should stay...
many things can be done... to sustain the government.. depending on the reasons... and what situations the government living
i spoke in general coz i don't know how is it in Nepal

Yeah, its kinda hard to solve the problem in Nepal as there is conflict and clash between many political parties.
I agree with Saladin, when we speak in general where the countries have similar story in the countries like Nepal, the people are the key factor in selecting the leader....

For stable politics, political party and their views should be sustainable. Cold war (civil war) wont work. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- sun-e-boy (सूर्य)

it depends on the balance of forces of the society.history of nation state formation has to be studied properly.caste, ethnic groups, political parties, judicciary, army and civil society -they have arole to play here.
and economy is so poor, the situation is much harder to take a proper decision.nepal is the midst of India and china--this is also an important element.

the india-china can play a role in nepal.
army, maoists, mainstream political parties, ethnic realities, caste factor, political economy of nepal -all these factors are determing the social and political conditions of nepal.
the economy advancement as a switzerland of south asia remains a dream.
the civi war like situation might be emerged in nepal?

THE GREAT IDEA IS ONLY THE COMMON CONCENSUS FOR BRINGING AMONG ALL PARTIES AND ASPECTS WITH THE SPIRIT OF NATIONALITY. bUT THE BURNING AGENDA SHOULD BE THE POLITICAL PARTY REFORM IN nEPAL. tHE REFORM PROCEDURE CREATES THE MEASURE FOR STABILITY. lACK OF An EXCELLENT LEADER IS ANOTHER CAUSE OF BEING INSTABLE.
AND INTERNAL DEMOCRACY INTO POLITICAL PARTIES IS NECESSARY.
aLL THE ACTORS OF DEMOCRACY ARE POLITICAL PARTIES SO FIRSTLY THEY NEED TO REFORM AND CIVIL EFFORT MUST BE SUPPORTIVE TOWARDS STABILITY.
yasdag, foreign affairs and other intervention always plays the role of divide and role. The young generation might the initiater for stability.

The role of internal and external forces are very crucial.in this age of globalisation, what is the role of a nation state?we will have to redefine ithe role of nation state.nepal scenario pin poits this reality.

Kishor is right! Good leader is the need of the hour. Stability of a family depends on the role of father, similarly, stability of a nation depends on the vision and actions of Leaders it has elected.
The involvement of educated youth in panchayats or village or town adminstration is very much needed. They need to be supported by youth organisations which as they grow can become the much needed political party with necessary leaders. This is applicable everywhere in the Indian sub-continent.
The solution is visible and known but volunteering is needed. I hope Yashoda, you will take lead in this too!
