I am looking for any information on the HIV/AIDS epidemic affecting the continent of Africa, specifically Nigeria. My project concerns the United Nations Millenium Campaign. What specifically is being done to prevent and help victims of HIV/AIDS? Is any progress being made? Thank you, any help would be appreciated.

Hello.
I have been opportune to be part of HOME BASE CARE for PLWHA. And I have gone for several training concerning people living with HIV/AIDS.
I am part of an Organization who focuses on Youth & Health in general.
What I will have to tell you is that that the advocacy against HIV/AIDS in Nigeria is getting higher and higher but by the way the know the AFRICAN thing, they will never believe such still exist despite government effort toward the publicity.
One major issue still remains mis-management of fund for PLWHAIDS and as such makes them feel stigmatized.
As for the training assisted by NGO & US GOVERNMENT on CARE GIVERS it is duly up to some standard.
I require any information I would be glad to help.
cheers.
