I have been going through TIG and I encountered that maximum people have active rank 127!!!!

Hey...an intresting observation..what do you exactly mean by maximum ...people attaining rank #127 is it that we can not get beyond tht.

I mean, in few days, I have added many freinds and I ussually see their rank and I found that active rank of most them was 127....

i don't know why or how they count the ranks
but even someone who's not active at all
active rank is 127!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm starting to doubt about my rank

My active ranking is also 127 and I want to know on what bases that this ranking is done. I am almost doing most of the vital things on the network but i too still can understand what is happening?

Hello everyone! Thanks for reporting this issue.
About Active Rank
Your active rank is calculated through a weighting system. Everything you do on TIG is weighted different when we calculate your active rank. Things like having friends, commenting on a panorama article or even logging into the site all matter -- but are weighted differently. Some of the higher weighted things, encase you want that extra edge, include: posting TIG Blogs, posting in the discussion boards, and submitting items to the Global Gallery.
However, these are by no means the only way to get your active rank higher. Everything you do on TIG matters, so don't stop at the global gallery!
About The Problem
I changed some settings in the database and ran the script to recalculate all the active ranks. Everything should be up-to-date and proper now. Sorry for the confusion.
If you think you have any further issues with your active rank please send an email to Member Services (memberservices[AT]takingitglobal.org), or myself (robert[AT]takingitglobal.org), or you can use the TIG IM system and send me a message that way.
