THE NATURE OF HUMAN FREEDOM
Freedom is a condition of being free from restrictions or control, or a condition of being free from confinement. It can also be seen as a statement or attitude not warranted by conditions. I believe that every human being is entitled to have a free opinion of expression, character, and movement.
No human being should be restricted to someone else’s opinion or beliefs. In country’s where there is a supposedly “democratic government”, some elements restrict people from voicing their opinion about issues affecting their lives, this is unethical.
The nature of human freedom should be total, such that every human can choose whatever religion he or she wants to practice, say what he feels, move freely, and even elect whoever he or she deems fit to govern his or her country, with the leaders respecting this decision and not hampering this act. Amongst other things, these are the necessities. Until this form of freedom is achieved especially in Africa, development will not be achieved.
Without mincing words, I think youths of countries in Africa should keep up the campaign for total freedom. The UN and other organizations alike should hold tight their own end of the rope on issues bothering on human freedom. People are dying and suffering, those that do not have a voice or means of expressing their minds are suffering. And like someone said, good intentions are not just good enough.
I do not believe in singing the song of human freedom alone I believe in action, getting it done, results. All human are equal; therefore everyone should be entirely free. However, I also believe and feel that the people of a state should be free to have a say in their governance by creating a governance meter through polls, thereby measuring if a leader has ruled well or not, such expression should not lead to any form of conflict but should show or depict the level of freedom of speech available in such country. Until freedom is total in all ramifications, then it is not freedom. Freedom must be total.
