HUMAN DIGNITY AND DEVELOPMENT
Human dignity is the ability for humans to protect their rights. Example is their traditional or ancestral lands, territories, culture and security.
The relationship between human dignity and development is the positive effect which development brings which complements man’s dignity. What I believe is that development comes in various forms, some are good to human dignity (it complements it) while others do not .So it is up to man to sift the forms of development and implement the positive ones. I hope that the International Federation will make sure that the issues of
Human rights, human dignity and sustainable development should not remain mere
Intellectual concepts but need to be translated into international and national policies and concrete action at the local level. Good intentions are not sufficient.
The main hindrances to development in my community are corruption, mismanagement of resources, carefree attitude because leaders believe that justice cannot catch up with them once they belong to the right carban or political click, negligence of duty, tribalism especially in a multi-tribal community, lack of implementation of plans, favoritism, and lack of amenities which is as a result of the leader’s negligence.
