There have been many changes in education lately, from changes in teaching methods to new technology being introduced. However I think one of the greatest innovations is MARVIN.
MARVIN can be seen as a cross between PowerPoint and Hyperstudio, and is a story telling tool. Students are able to use it as a creative medium for presenting the finding of stuides and as a innovative classroom management tool.
This software was originally devloped to promote sensitive topics like substance abuse and sexual and mental health. However these days even companies like Intel are creating commericals based on the animations in MARVIN.
When it comes to speeches students who normally have a fear with speaking in front of the class can actually pre-record their speech and have the animations in MARVIN present it for them magically moving their lips in time to the speech.
Students who mhave problems with their speech can have a voice through MARVIN.
SPLICE is joining the research team and we will use MARVIN in our upcoming videos as a creative means to introduce topics.

I found 2 interesting links on the Internet.
1. Innovations in Teaching & Learning
They suggest some tools for teaching & learning, most of them are free and accessible through the Internet.
Instant Messaging/VOIP
RSS Feed Reader/Aggregator
Mind Mapping/Concept Mapping
Social Bookmarking
Online Office Suites
Social Networking
Podcasting
Video Hosting
Photo Editing
Wiki Tools
Photo Storing/Image Sharing
2. Initial group honored for innovations in teaching
They already awared 5 teaching innovations which are:
1. Experiential Cross-Disciplinary Learning: Integrated Product Development (IPD)
2. The Family Centered Experience Program: Patients as Teachers in Fostering Empathy and Patient-Centered Care
3. Promoting Student Inquiry and Active Learning: Animal Diversity Web (ADW) and Quaardvark
4. Innovations for Larger Classes: LectureTools and Online Textbooks (XamPREP)
5. Virtual Microscopy for Life Sciences Education
Hope that it helps
P/S I'm pretty impressive with what your team SPLICE is doing/trying to do. Keep up your good work!

I checked the link for"MARVIN". Now I remember the name of it. It was introduced in our school then, but still under study. It was not yet that popular in our school, but it already started gaining its reputation as one of the methods used in classrooms.
