Ideas for using Digital course management system in education for Microsoft Partners In Learning Regional Innovative Teachers' Conference 2009

This is a thread in which people can voice ideas for real change in education, whether it be for schools or classrooms, which can be the platform for the presentation at the Microsoft Partners In Learning Regional Innovative Teachers' Conference 2009.
Given part of the conference is to "develop innovative school- or classroom-based projects" I thought that people could start coming up with some new ideas. To start:
The Use of Digital course management system
Any educational institution can easily use digital course management systems. For example, online system to submit assignments, grading mechanism, course forum for students, etc. There are such course management systems like Blackboard Campus Edition or Blackboard Vista for course management. If this is not possible, then at least educational institution can use Moodle for course management. Moodle is free and open source software and it should not take more than several hours to install it in your server. It is easy to use for both the parties: students and teachers. It gives lots of functionalities for students and instructors as well. I can help if any one need suggestions/help regarding installing moodle.
