Improving Teacher Performance through innovation and technology

Not only can technology and innovation be used to help students but also to help teachers. At my school teachers are videoed and observed and then provided with feedback with which to improve their performance. They are observed on numerous occasions over the year and through this innovation can then teach and engage with students better. This is a system which could be established elsewhere. What are your thoughts?

That is a good suggeestion and practice Ben! Here in the Philippines, there are classroom demonstrations that are being obsserved by their supervisors or superiors, and after that they are being evaluated. Students can also provide their suggestions on how to improve classroom discussions.
I hope there are lots of evaluation tools for teachers also to improve their teaching quality.
And by the way, I would like to welcome you Ben for joining us here in this discussion board... Enjoy!

I do agree with you! Technology is invented to enhance our activities. The more innovative technology is, the more effective our teachers are.

That's a very good way to improve teachers. They'll be able to see their strength and weakness while they're teaching.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve this model? Also, does anyone have any ideas on other ways to improve quality of instruction?

That is similar to what happens at our school. Especially for student-teachers (those who are studying to be a teacher at university) who get evaluated by their lecturer or supervisor for their practical assessment.
Ben, at your school do the teachers get to view the video of other teachers? Because if they don't, then I think it will be a great way for teachers to improve if they see what other teachers do, not only their good points but also their bad points.
