Our country got the same problems. Students go to school for sake of jobs not for sake of science.

This is not all true. Graduates still have to find work and apply for the job. In answer to the question about graduates not being able to find work, we in Australia are lucky as unemployment levels (whilst increasing due to the economic recession) are low and most skilled workers (eg graduates) are able to find work that corrolates with their field of expertise.

But the job problem is not related with the educational system. It only relates when graduates are not qualified enough for a job. I think philipines have less job openings. Please correct me if I am wrong

It seems to me as though the education systems of countries like the Phillipines and Vietnam are struggling to provide adequate education for all students due to a number of factors, many of which can't be changed overnight. Do you agree? Does anyone have any ideas of how to improve that type of situation?

It does relate to each others. Espcially, when you mentioned some students can't find the jobs that match their fields.

Yes, that i also a problem. Country may need 100 Engineers. But it can produce more than 100 Engineers. Then rest engineers have to find a new way.

Indeed. The education system and jobs available do relate because the education you have received determines the job you will get. However, if graduates are forced to have a job which they aren't educated for because there are no other jobs available then yes this issue would be seperate to the education system. Unless too many students were being educated in the same field?

It is not the matter of demand and supply because if there demand exceeds supply or vice versa, the market will adjust itself. But it is the quality of education, whether the education can produce a good generation of workers or not.

I'm happy to hear that education is really free in some parts of the globe.
In the Philippines, we do have public schools that require only a minimal amount for you to be enrolled. But sad to say, the quality of education is not really that good. We have at least 60 students to one teacher in every class. There is a great lack of book, tables, chairs and even classrooms in most public schools. And out of 10 students who enroll in elementary, we only have around 5 who can really finish since most students drop from school to help their parents in earning money.
We really need to do a lot of things to improve the educational system in our country.
To me it seems as though technology can't fix this and that if, for example, more technology was donated eg a computer it wouldn't make a huge difference in results. What are your thoughts?
For a situation like this innovation and fixing of the system would be required so that all children at least get a basic education. Does anyone have any practical solutions to this?

Indeed, i agree to your points, but if after graduation you need not only focus on what you learned already because it may or may not guarantee your future. It is still best to learn other fields for a person to become more versatile for his future career.

This is a good point. This is why the University of Melbourne introduced their Melbourne Model degrees to provide graduates with a greater bredth of learning.

Yes. The system involves doing a broad course as an undergraduate degree, eg Commerce, and completing your major within the normal confines of that course. Then with most of your remaining subjects you can choose any subject from any of the other Melbourne Model courses, eg a history subject. This way you can do a Commerce course and still receive a qualification in history (called a breadth sequence).
